League Updates

Rick started replacing the back board on several of the pits. To come (yep - another work night) will be to prime and paint the backstops, cut down the weeds at the end of the parking lot and get the trim on the shed painted.

We are looking for idea on how to secure the new picnic tables.. If you have any ideas, please get with Rick or Chris.

Thanks about it for now !!!

June 10, 2008 - First Night

Well, I do hope that everyone has dried out. It appears that everyone got their first game in, though we got sprinkled on, at least I think one might call that a sprinkle. Some people finished the second game and others ended in the middle. I think what will happen is next week everyone will need to finish the 2nd game. We will then try and get four games in after that, three from Week #2 and the final game from Week #1 (last night).

Hang in there everyone. I am sure that there are many sunny days to come.

Again, if any one wants to carpool to Buffalo on Sunday, give me a call.

2008 SEASON

The season is finally underway, despite all the rain. It appears that we will have somewhere between 30-35 players. Tournament schedules, league rules, and business cards were handed out prior to pitching. The league officially starts on 06/10/08 and will run thru 08/12/08. The club tournaments, along with RC Enterprise and CSI, will be held on August 16th and 17th. The club is also hosting state tournament on August 30th -31st.

I want to thank everyone that worked on the pits this year. With the large amount of rain we received, it was difficult fitting the work nights in. But with everyones help the courts were ready to go at game time...Again a big THANK YOU.

If you are artistic, we are looking for a patch design for state tournament. Please let me know if you are interested.

Pit Clean Up

The clean up for May 27th has been cancelled due to the rain. We will try again on June 2nd, the night before we set our percentages.

If you can help, we need all that we can get. We will be working on painting the picnic tables, backstops and 30' marker. We also needs some major carpentry work on the picnic tables.

Rick should have all the area mowed and ready for us at 6pm. We will start on trash pick up, roto-tilling the pits and carrying in more dirt if needed.

Please come and help us out!

Again, percentages will be set on June 3, 2 games of 50 shoes. The next 10 weeks will be three games of 40 shoes. The fee is $8.00/night, but remember if you pay for the entire year on June 10th, you will get an $8.00 discount (one free night).

2008 League Information

Clean up for the upcoming year will take place on May 20 and May 27th at 6:00pm. We will need all the help we can get !

The first night of play will be June 3. We will play 2 games of 50 shoes, which will set our percentage. This night is free. We will then play 10 weeks of 3 games / 40 shoes. The weekly fee is $8.00. If you pay for the entire year June 10th you will receive an $8.00 discount.

The CSI tournament will be held August 16 starting at 5pm with a carry in dinner. The tournament will begin at 6:30pm. Contractors Supply Inc has sponsored the prize fund with an extra $500. The RC Enterprise tournament will be held August 17 starting at 9:00am. RC Enterprise has also added $500 to the prize fund. A big hearty THANK YOU to both companies.

This year the club is hosting the state tournament on August 30th and 31st. We will need many volunteers for this endeavor. I am going to ask the boy/girl scouts if they would be interested in providing burger for both noon meals as a fund raiser. We will also be asking them if they would be interested is scorekeeping for the tourney.

National Entry Forms are due by May 15th. The form can be downloaded on the nat'l web site or contact me and I will get one to you.

Hope to see you for clean up on May 20 and 27th!

Contractors Supply / RC Enterpise Tournament

What a great weekend. Whitey...thank you so much for preparing all the meat...what a great success. I do believe that this was one of the best carry-in dinners I've been to. Congrats to you all. Luckily the rain didn't start until after the feast had been completed !

As you are aware, the Friday evening tournament was cancelled due to the rain. The prize fund was carried over to Saturday and we had one huge tournament with great payout. The winners (as well as some pictures) of this tournament will be posted soon.
