Welp, it is over...and after the dust settled...we have some World Class Winners

Thanks again to all the helped with the regisration table as well as the walking doubles tournamnet. We made $100+ on the raffle (thank's to Cindy for the donation) and $800+ on the doubles tournament. Most of these funds will go back into the courts.

The Fireside Horseshoe Tournament will be held August 19 at 8:00am. After visiting last night, we are also going to have a tournament on the 20th. The time has not yet been set, but probably 8:00am again so people do not get confused. We will have two bleacher available and Whitey is going to bring in his large tent for some shade. If any of you have a pop-up tent, please bring it along for shade while scorekeeping. It gets way-way hot.

Hopefully these two tournaments will get everyone qualified for State. If I remember correctly the State Entry form must be sent in my August 12 to Maisie Pope. There is room for campers/motorhomes across from the courts in Rock Springs (by their fair grounds). If you are interested let me know and I will make some calls.

That is about it for now. I believe we have four more weeks of league left (maybe 5-I'm not sure)...but we will play right up to state.

World Tournament Is Here

First off...THANK YOU to all that are helping with the registration table. If anyone can help out during the week days betweeen 8am and 5pm it would be SOOOO appreciated. There is an envelope at the registration table that contains a name tag for all our club members.

The quilt did not become a reality. We just didn't have time to complete the project. We do have permission to sell raffle tickets for 2 jackets and 2 hats that say something similar to "2006 World Horseshoe Tournament - I was there" Diana, thank you for getting this all set up. The merchandise will be at the registration table hopefully Monday. The tickets are $1/piece or $5/for six. Have the person put their name and phone number on the ticket and put them in one of the boxes in the building beside the table. These will only be sold at the registration table, not at the pits.

The Walking Doubles tournament will continue every night from 07/09 - 07/21. Everyone is welcome to participate or help out, just come down and say hello. We will take the first 48 players to register each night starting at 6:30pm. We hope to start by 7:00pm and be finished no later than 10:00pm. Again--thanks Nene for getting this one going.

The World T-shirts are in the shed. You will need to get the key from the bar to access the shed. If any are left Sunday evening, I will get them delivered to you when you play or call you and let you know what is up ! Diana - thanks again for meeting with mongramming and getting the shirt deal going. I like them alot !

I contact Alva and the Timmers to sell their horsehose wares at the pits. Neither one of them called me back to confirm, so I do not believe that this will happen.

Last - but certainly not least..... THANK YOU to all that continue to come down to the pits for clean up. There were a bunch of people last Thursday and everything was cleaned up and prepared for worlds within two hours. THE PITS LOOK GREAT !!!
